There's nothing quite like showing your family the life you've built here — the skyline at night, a desert evening, Christmas lunch together in your own home. For many residents, the winter holidays are the best time to bring loved ones over.

A UAE visit visa is usually straightforward when it's prepared properly. The key is starting early and getting the documents right first time.

First, check whether a visa is needed

Some nationalities can enter the UAE visa-free or receive a visa on arrival, while others need a visit visa arranged before travel. It depends entirely on the passport your family member holds, so this is always the first thing we check.

What we'll usually need from you

From the traveller

  • A clear colour copy of their passport, valid for at least six months.
  • A recent passport-style photo on a white background.
  • Their confirmed or planned travel dates.

From you, as the sponsor or host

  • A copy of your Emirates ID and residence visa.
  • Proof of your relationship where required — for example, birth or marriage certificates.
  • Details of where your family will stay during the visit.

Choose the right visa length

Visit visas come in different durations. Think about the whole trip — arrival, the holidays, a few days of buffer — and choose a visa that comfortably covers it. Overstaying leads to fines, and extending later is usually more hassle than getting the right length at the start.

Timing for a December visit

  1. Decide dates and book flights early — holiday fares from the Philippines and South Asia rise quickly.
  2. Send us the documents as soon as the dates are fixed.
  3. Allow enough working days for processing, and avoid applying the week before a public holiday.
  4. Once the visa is issued, check every detail — names, passport numbers and dates — against the passport.

Arriving in December? Allow extra time at the airport — it's the busiest season.

Make the arrival easy

If your parents are travelling alone or for the first time, arrange an airport transfer so they're not navigating taxis after a long flight — we can book it for you.

Our favourite part of the job is hearing that someone's mum landed safely and the family is together for the holidays.

We'll handle the paperwork

Our team prepares the application, checks each document against the current requirements and keeps you updated until the visa is issued. Approval is always decided by the authorities, but a complete application is the best start. Visit our UAE Visa service page or message us to begin.
